How Start Up Loans helps Scottish start up businesses
The Government-backed Start Up Loans scheme has helped over 2,000 individuals across Scotland turn their business dream in to a reality.
From supporting new start up ideas to helping existing small businesses expand, the Start Up Loans scheme is able to provide support, guidance and mentoring, all free of charge, alongside the loan funding of up to £25,000.
If you’ve ever dreamt of setting up your own business, there’s never been a better time. The Government has committed £350m to the scheme and plans to deliver 75,000 loans by 2020, which means even more start ups have a chance to succeed.
The scheme is a great alternative for anyone looking for a business loan to fund their start up but has not been able to obtain finance through traditional means. The loans, which are unsecured personal loans for business purposes, start from as little as £500 to as much as £25,000 and can be repaid over one-five years with no early repayment fees. Interest is fixed at 6% p.a. meaning you will always know exactly how much you’re paying back each month.
