Father of two David O’Neal opened his children’s hair salon Shortcuts with the help of a Start Up Loan.

David set out to change the hairdressing experience for young boys and girls. He transformed an empty retail unit into an interactive space full of distractions for children when they are having their hair cut; from Playstations, to DVD players and interactive chairs, the salon has taken a new approach to hairdressing which has proved a great success.

Since opening in June 2014 the salon has seen its client base grow month on month, with some clients driving over an hour to get their children’s haircut. With the original proving a huge hit, David has now also opened two new Shortcuts salons in Northampton and London.
