Margarita Veberaite and fellow co-founders, Josefa Celestin and Fraser Stephen launched their business, Shakehaus in April 2016. A creative video and production agency based in Edinburgh. All three partners each received funding from Start Up Loans to help them launch the business.
Margarita, Fraser and Josefa were ex-colleagues that all freelanced in the production field. The three of them worked really well together and all agreed they were tired of working for someone else. That is when the idea of Shakehaus was born. Since the agency has started trading they have built up just over ten clients, including banking giants RBS and Deutsche Bank. They secured their first client just two months after starting up. They also work with local small businesses and other start ups.
Shakehaus had already generated £15,000 turnover in 2016 and the three co-founders plan on securing more big clients in 2017. They also hope to start trading internationally and expand their post-production department by employing two extra members of staff.
Margarita, Josefa and Fraser each received mentoring support through the Start Up Loan scheme and said it was very helpful and provided valuable assistance through each stage of the loan process and the early days of their business.
