Shocked at the amount of unnecessary sugar found in most breakfast spreads, mother of two Kellie Bath knew she wanted something healthier for her young children.
A search for a reduced sugar chocolate alternative proved fruitless and revealed a crucial gap in the market. With her entrepreneurial husband Kevin looking for a change from his IT career, they decided it was time to take the plunge and launch their very own range of healthier spreads – chocolate and jams. At the core is their ethos to keep both health conscious parents – and their children – happy. So JimJams was born.
JimJams are extremely proud of their delicious brother and sister chocolate spreads – which are low in sugar. As well as chocolate spreads, JimJams have developed a range of reduced sugar jams and with a high fruit content. The JimJams jam family consists of Raspberry, Orange Marmalade, Strawberry and the Great Taste 2015 one star award winning Blackcurrant.
“As a parent you want the best for your children. I am not alone. When we realised that there was a gap in the market for healthier chocolate spreads it became a mission to create something that tasted fantastic – yet that also contained less sugar. JimJams has a broad appeal; it is for mums who would like their children to consume less sugar but still enjoy a treat – and for children who want a spread that is fun and funky! It is also for adults looking for a nostalgic comfort food. All that is needed is JimJams – and jimjams!”
JimJams had an incredibly successful year in 2016, with a variety of retailers stocking their products, including Ocado, Tesco, Holland & Barrett, Wholefoods Markets and Morrisons. They have also managed to secure a deal with Compass Group to supply their 15g breakfast Chocolate Spread portions to Colleges and Universities.
