Jacqueline Hall from Essex decided to set up her own business, DALE Coaching Ltd, after she had been made redundant and turned down from various job interviews. Jacqueline is a self-motivated, strong and determined lady who wanted to offer coaching services in areas such as leadership, executive coaching and youth leadership in and around the Greater London area.
The aim was to prepare people with skills to help them get through life and its day to day challenges in a positive way, so that they wouldn’t be demotivated by life’s set-backs.
Initially Jacqueline wanted to focus on face-to-face and group coaching. However, with the growth in technology and people being tight for time, Jacqueline identified an opportunity to begin offering coaching online. The service would be accessible for people wherever they’re based and would allow them to fit the coaching around their schedules.
DALE Coaching targets the Greater London area and has secured contracts to host introductory workshops for corporations in order to generate a regular income. During the early months, there was slow uptake, so it was crucial that Jacqueline used social media channels and networking events to increase customer interest, so this is exactly what she did.
Jacqueline used the support provided by her delivery partner, Newable, to design a new website and purchase necessary equipment for the set up and running of the training business – i.e. tablet, printer, projector, coaching resources and marketing materials. These elements were all vital during the initial launch of the business.
The business is heading in the right direction, offering online coaching and training and face-to-face group seminars. Jacqueline has been growing her skills in managing social media, using Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn regularly, to attract attention and interest. Jacqueline is planning to carry out an email marketing campaign, aimed at existing and new customers to further explain the business’ range of services.
Jacqueline’s future plans are to really establish DALE Coaching and to act as an Industry thought leader. She recently attended a coaching CPD seminar and was told that her webchat service – ISee Success WebChat – is “positively disruptive in the coaching field”.
