Supporting NEA participants

We work closely with the New Enterprise Allowance scheme to ensure that eligible participants can access the finance they need to start their own business. Thousands of individuals have already benefited and turned their lives around with the support of a Start Up Loan.

The New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) scheme is a business support programme offered by the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) that aims to help those claiming certain unemployment benefits to become self-employed. Although we are separate entities, the Start Up Loans Company works closely with DWP to ensure that customers taking part in the NEA scheme have access to the finance they need to start their business.

If you are currently participating in, or have participated in the NEA scheme within the last 10 months, then you can apply for a Start Up Loan between £500 and £25,000 using your approved NEA business plan.
