Brothers Sam, Tom and Patrick Quilliam have combined to create Quilliam Brothers. Located in the heart of Newcastle Quilliam Brothers is a tea house and cultural hub offering fine tea and drinks, art and film screenings.
Inspired by a tea house in Budapest where elder brother Patrick was running a hostel the trio decided to set up their business in 2013 and haven not looked back since.
Wanting to work for each other and no one else made their decision all the easier and each took out a £5,000 Start Up Loan each which helped them renovate their historic premises near both the University and St James’s Park.
The gallery is mixed in with the tea house and promotes young, local artists. Teas are sourced from across the globe including German, India and China while there is a range of local brews on offer of a different kind. One of the beers they stock is a collaboration with fellow Start Up Loan recipient Errant Brewery!
The brothers now employ 24 staff at their teahouse and have also opened a hostel in Montenegro.
